Stephen D. King, aka “DJ InStrumenT’eL,” is a musician and first-time children’s book author from St. Louis, MO. He never intended to be a book author, despite always being asked if he was “thee” more renowned author of the same name. He’s more known for being a music producer, manager and promoter on the St. Louis music scene, while always holding down a fulltime job. He djs a little bit as a hobby, primarily blending reggae vibes. Inspired by his young children and grandchildren, King brings heart, rhythm, and relatable life lessons to his storytelling. His debut, The Land of Unopened Toys, is the first of many collaborations with long time friend and illustrator Robert ‘Jah Orah’ Gilliam, who he formally managed and produced.
